Cash For Gold Prices
If you are wondering what you would make for turning in your gold jewelry, you need to understand the true implication of such transaction. You would need to consider what they aren't telling you about the actual price of gold, how much the weight actually is, if things will need to be separated and how much difference that will make. Some companies will give you a guarantee with your product, although there will still be a catch with the guarantee as well. There are places that will guarantee you prices; unfortunately they can be much lower than what you could get from sending it in.
If you watch the news, you notice that the price of gold has gone up quite a bit, into the thousands even, and that spikes many interests. The interests have been very misleading. Why do you need to ask? Well, unless you have a very large amount of gold or some very thick and heavy gold, you will not be receiving thousands. There are few people that would even make it into several hundred for their gold. They will tell you an amount you will get per ounce, and that is the very part that will mislead you. It may seem like a small amount, but when measuring gold, an ounce is quite a bit.
If your jewelry has any type of diamond or other stones in it, then that will be considered in the pricing, as well. It could mean more or less than what you might have gotten for just straight gold. They will have to take the jewelry apart to get an accurate view of how much they will give you for it, since different metals and different gems will have a different rate of value. If you send your jewelry into a company and you decide that they aren't going to give you enough, then you should be prepared for the different materials that were separated. Some companies will give estimates while others will take them apart to give an accurate amount as prices.
There are a few places that have non fluctuating prices but they also will give you less for the amount of gold that you turn in. Pawn shops don't get a lot of business for selling jewelry, but since the industry has increased they do offer their services. They would be considered a middleman and therefore the price you get will be decreased, but your payment will be guaranteed and you won't have to worry about sending anything in the mail. For instance, a basic ring given to a pawn shop buying gold, may only give you $70 but you would be guaranteed the money right then and there. So, the question becomes, would you want to be safe or would you want to take a chance?
